Dr. Andrew Flipse
Dr. Andrew Flipse is a General Dentist and a native of Middle Tennessee. He holds two bachelor’s degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. During his time at Louisville, Dr. Flipse served as class president and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Among his many honors, he can list Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, Delphi Society, and top student in anatomy and neurobiology, Best of the Best in Prosthodontics and Endodontics. He was also Most Outstanding Graduate of Louisville School of Dentistry in his class of 2015.
Dr. Flipse is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Flipse completed a one-year clinical residency in dental implantology and I.V. sedation under the tutelage of a pioneer in implant dentistry, Dr. Hilt Tatum. He has completed all of the requirements to be awarded the coveted Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, and will soon complete the requirements to achieve the Fellowship in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Flipse has achieved awards for his publications on implants, bone grafting and sinus grafting. He attends conferences and continuing education nationwide in order to provide his patients with the highest level of care available.
He likes to dedicate his skills to the betterment of his community by volunteering his time at Interfaith Dental Clinic. His hobbies include playing music and sailing.
Dr. Walter C. Chitwood, Jr.
Walter C. Chitwood, Jr., DDS is one of only a handful of implant specialists in Tennessee, certified by the American Board of Oral Implantology. He has also received several other honors including being named Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and Fellow of the American Society of Osseointegration, Academy of Implants and Transplants, and the Academy of Dentistry International. He has also been bestowed the title of Honored Fellow by the Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Chitwood is also an educator. In addition to his private practice, he holds several teaching positions: Assistant Clinical Professor, University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, Department of Prosthetics, and faculty member of the AAID implant MaxiCourses in Oregon and at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. He also serves as the Director of the Professional Education Resource Center.
Dr. Chitwood is also very involved with his community. He serves on several advisory boards, and is the athletic dentist for Middle Tennessee State University. He has also been named to be an attending dentist for our Olympic teams, serving the athletes for Team USA.
He takes time each year to participate in medical mission trips to Central and Latin American countries (33 trips to Mexico and Nicaragua). Dr. Chitwood and his wife, Denise, have three children Carleigh Dunbar (Daniel), Mary Ansley, and Walt III.
Melinda Deakins is a Registered and Certified Dental Assistant who joined our team in 2001. Over the last 17 years she has held many roles within our office. Most recently, transitioning into the role as our office administrator. Melinda is the main contact person when calling to schedule your dental treatment and implant surgeries. She is also well versed in dental insurance and can help you with any questions that you may have.
Melinda has known her husband, Chris, since she was a child. They married in 2005 and have been blessed with two children, Hailey and Colton. They all like spending time outdoors and love to travel. Whether its a weekend getaway or the annual family vacation they’re always looking forward to the next adventure!
Donna is a Registered Dental Assistant who has been at Implant General Dentistry for over 20 years. Donna is married to Harold Mercer. She has 2 sons, Jon and Matt Parker, and 2 wonderful daughter in laws, Carol and Kristy Parker. She is blessed with 5 grandchildren, Adam, Macy, Sadie, Ellie, and Landon. When not working to improve the smiles of beautiful patients she enjoys her Bassett Hound, Bonnie. She also loves cooking, gardening, shopping, swimming, and attending her favorite gym for yoga and zumba class.
Alison is a Registered Dental Hygienist who joined our team in November of 2006. She graduated from UT-Memphis in 1999. Alison and her husband Clay enjoy spending time with their two children, Halle and Hunter, and their two boxer dogs; Sadie and Brinley. When she is not working, she can be found cheering on her kids at the baseball field, basketball court, and swimming pool. Alison loves her job and loves to keep the patients smiling!
Jennifer, a Registered Dental Hygienist, joined our team in 2004. She has been working in the dental field for 18 years. Before moving to Tennessee in 2001, she lived and worked in Mississippi. Jennifer loves to spend time traveling with her family. She and her husband, Johnny, have three children: Emily, Trent and Sarah.
Cindy joined our team in July, 2015, as our Implant Coordinator. She is the implant liaison between our many referral doctors. She is the contact person for coordinating special events and lectures for both doctors. Cindy and her husband, Billy, have been married for 29 years. They have two sons, Rob and Matt. She loves spending time at the beach, loves to travel and crochet.
Ann is a registered dental assistant who brings over 33 years of oral surgery and general dentistry experience to our team. She has two children, Amber and Chad. She’s been blessed with two adorable, twin, granddaughters who keep her busy in her spare time. She loves to read, do puzzles, and enjoys being outdoors.
Jamie graduated from Vol State in 2011 as a registered dental assistant. She joined our team in 2016, and assisted both doctors chair side until 2017 when she took the position as our hygiene and insurance coordinator. She is the main contact person when calling to schedule hygiene appointments. She loves spending time with her family, outdoors, and traveling to new places.
Seidina Brown is the newest member to our team. However, with over 20 years experience she isn’t new to the dental profession. Seidina is also our office OSHA coordinator. So, that means she makes sure our office meets the highest safety standards. Seidina has one daughter named Alexia who keeps her busy. They enjoy watching movies during the winter and going to the lake in the summer!
